10 Reasons to Live in Charleston, SC
There are so many reasons to love Charleston but we're going to dial it in to give you our top 10 reasons of why we love the Holy City.
10. Brunch
We love our Sunday brunch so much here in Chucktown that we have it on Saturday too! You will find brunch lovers from all over town that crowd the local rooftop venues and picturesque outdoor dining spots. We enjoy tasty dishes like Lowcountry eggs Benedict and shrimp and grits while drinking generously poured carafes of mimosas–can you say Sunday Fun Day?
9. Breweries & Distilleries
Charleston boasts 31 breweries and climbing–from favorite spot Two Blokes Brewery, to the aptly named Holy City Brewing Co., and the oldest brewery Palmetto Brewing Company. The beer scene in Charleston has exploded over the past five years and shows no sign of slowing down! Firefly is our most notable distillery and paved the way for others like High Wire, Cannon Distilleries, and Striped Pig.
8. BBQ
In the south, BBQ is often compared to religion: you have followers of slow-cooked pork, ribs, and shoulders raised in spicy vinegar to the parishioners of salty, slow-cooked beef brisket and smoked sausage.
We have Fiery Ron's Home Team BBQ where the chefs and pit masters come up with new and exciting ways to present their famous BBQ and wings. Lewis Barbecue brings the taste of Texas to the Lowcountry with their award-winning beef brisket and then we have the sultan of smoke–Rodney Scott. It's pork barbecue that
melts in your mouth and sends you home to take a nap.
7. King Street
The shops along this famous downtown strip of boutiques and houses of style can satisfy any shopaholic from local boutiques and shops like to Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Lululemon. While you stroll the streets you can stop into one of the many cafes, restaurants, and bars to enjoy lunch or sip a cocktail.
6. Historical Tours
Charleston has historical sights and tours for even the best history buffs. We have sites such as Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie. If you really want to travel back in time, you can visit one of the several plantations that are steeped in history and date back to the Civil War. The grounds of these plantations such as Magnolia Plantation and Boone Hall are breathtakingly beautiful and can be toured on a daily basis.

PGA championship tour and some LPGA events. Lowcountry golf courses are beautiful but unforgiving–while playing around you may see some local wildlife such as herons and egrets, but keep an eye out for the alligators!
