Scott Kafka • October 21, 2020

Isle of Palms, SC is a favorite among sun-worshiping adventure seekers from all over. This stunning island boasts a seven mile strip of white sand beach that hits everything from golf and tennis to lounging in your beach chair with a drink in hand. This serene beach definitely town has something for everyone!

1.  Beaches

From one end of the island to the other you can lounge, run, walk, dolphin watch, or surf. The waters along the Isle of Palms are kissed by the Gulf Stream and are warm and welcoming. IOP residents can be found walking the beach in the early morning to catch the sunrise, and for you dog lovers, your furry friends can be off leash from 5 am to 9 am during the summer and 4 pm to 10 am in the offseason. The waves on the Isle of Palms are considered to be on the smaller side so if you're a paddleboarder or a kiteboarding enthusiast, the IOP is a perfect spot!

2. Intracoastal Waterway
On the back side of this picturesque island lies the Intracoastal Waterway, which provides glassy water for fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and all kinds of watersports. You can find residents taking a pleasure cruise on their boat, riding sea-doos, or even and parasailing on the weekends. The waterway leads to some remote barrier islands such as Capers Island and Dewees for camping or just enjoying the sun with friends and family. There's no better way to end the day than a sunset cruise on this jewel of the Isle.
