Charleston is a quaint walkable city filled with history, beautiful beaches, family friendly attractions and a foodie’s dream come true. So, when Charleston has been named the number 1 city in the U.S. by Travel + Leisure for eight consecutive years, visitors are looking for the whole package. We're going to share a few of our favorite accommodations where it’s more than just a hotel, it’s an experience!

Whether visiting Charleston for business or pleasure, a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing hotel with local flair is essential!

Hotel Bennett

Hotel Bennett is Charleston’s grandest new luxury hotel in the heart of Downtown on the iconic King Street, right in the shopping and dining district!

Inspired by Charlestonian and European classic design, the style and elegance shine in local artwork, luxurious furnishings and fixtures and attention to detail throughout the hotel and in the 179 stylish guest rooms and suites.

What amenities can you expect at Hotel Bennett? Well let’s start your morning in the Paris-inspired cafe, La Patisserie, for a croissant and coffee. Relax at the spa then travel up to the rooftop terrace with a bar, pool and views of Marion Square. Finish your evening with a fine dining experience at Gabriellas. And last but not least, enjoy Happy Hour or after dinner drinks at the famous pink champagne lounge! Camellia's unique design and style showcase many elements of a Camellia flower. The marble bar and table tops are the original marble from the library that once stood in this building. The most notable mention to Camellia's Champagne Lounge: It’s been named on the Most Instagrammable Restaurants by The Food Network!

The Dewberry

A mid-century lovers fantasy! We envision Frank Sinatra having an Old-Fashioned at the brass bar, or living in a scene straight out of Mad Men! The Dewberry experience is one-of-a-kind with beauteous endless marble, aged-brass, warm dark woodwork and antique mirrors giving off a cozy luxuriousness. The marble encased hallway leads to a grand ballroom and popular wedding venue. This elegant vibe translates into the 155 guest suites which also feature bathroom designs straight off your Pinterest Board and floor to ceiling windows with spectacular views of the city!

Speaking of spectacular views, the crown jewel of the hotel is on the 8th floor. The Citrus Club is the highest rooftop in Charleston! Enjoy a citrus-inspired cocktail and light bites as you take in panoramic views of this beautiful city!

The Restoration Hotel

A chic hotel that has it all! Voted “Best Urban Hotel” by Conde Nast in 2020, these 5 historical buildings that make up the Restoration Hotel on Wentworth Street have been transformed into luxury apartment suites and private executive suites ranging from studios to 3-bedroom residences with full kitchens and spacious living areas, all while maintaining a classic elegance with exposed brickwork and sprawling porches. So whether you are a party of 2 wanting a relaxing weekend getaway or a party of 7 for a bachelorette party, there’s a suite for you!

Grab a coffee at The Rise cafe, spend the day shopping on King and Market Streets, then enjoy a 5-star meal at the The Watch Rooftop. The Watch Rooftop is The Restoration’s very own farm to table restaurant, where you can have a locally curated meal and a hand-crafted cocktail while enjoying one of the best views in the city.

Other amenities include more beautiful views from the King Street facing rooftop deck, a luxury library, a private rooftop pool and relaxing in-room spa services!

Emeline

Charleston’s newest boutique hotel! Located on the corner of Church and Market Street, this landmark was built in 1852 and was previously a wholesale grocery store, dealership and bank before it was transformed to this charming beauty. We wish you could smell Emeline’s signature woodsy scent that carries through the lobby. It’s so welcoming and luxurious!

No detail was spared curating a unique experience from the stylish details in the lobby with plush couches and a record player to shopping at the “Keep Shop” which offers exclusive and unique local products and gifts.

Southern hospitality continues to the accommodations where guests of the 200 pet-friendly rooms will enjoy all the little details from the embroidered linens and signature-scented toiletries to the CBD treats for your furry friends and a dedicated bar on every floor featuring coffee, still & sparkling water!

The food scene at Emeline is yet another experience! Start the day with a perfect cup of coffee at Clerks. Enjoy a wood-fired pizza or a shared plate at Frannie & The Fox in the spacious and cozy courtyard. And you have to visit the Foxhole, where you can “press here” for champagne or a hand crafted Negroni!

This is just a tip of the iceberg of what you can find for unique hospitality in the heart of Downtown, Charleston. Stay tuned for part 2!
